VA Benefits: Why do I need an attorney?

Thank you for your service! We're here to help veterans get the benefits they deserve. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) offers many valuable benefits to veterans, including monthly payments deposited directly into their bank accounts. But the VA's claims process is often known for being slow and complicated, with delays and mistakes along the way.

Veterans can get free help from a local Veterans Service Officer, but in many cases - especially when finances are involved, it's best to work with an experienced legal professional.

Our firm helps with two main types of VA claims:

1. Non-Service Connected Disability Pension with Aid and Attendance

This benefit is for veterans, their spouses, and surviving spouses who need help paying for long-term care, such as a nursing home, assisted living, or personal care in the home. It's the highest level of VA pension available.

To qualify, the veteran must:

  • Have served at least 90 days on active duty, including 1 day during wartime

  • Have been honorably discharged

  • Be age 65 or older when disabled

  • Have limited income and assets

  • Need help with at least 2 daily tasks, like bathing, eating or dressing

Payments are tax-free and start from the date you apply. Here are the maximum monthly and yearly
amounts (as of 2025):

  • Single Veteran: $2,358/month or $28,300/year

  • Married Veteran: $2,795/month or $33,548/year

  • Surviving Spouse: $1,515/month or $18,187/year

  • Veteran Married to Another Veteran: $3,740/month or $44,886/year

2Service Connected Disability Claims

If you or a loved one became sick or injured because of military service, you may qualify for monthly compensation. These claims recognize that sacrifice made and offer financial support. Every situation is unique. Contact us to discuss the details of your case.

The VA process can be challenging, but you don't have to go through it alone. We're here to help you understand your options and get the benefits you've earned.
